Fitness Philosophy

Health and wellness cannot be found in a quick-fix magic pill that has unfavorable side effects.  Here are healthy lifestyle behavioral habits:

  • Train hard
  • Eat healthy foods
  • Drink lots of water
  • Sleep well
  • Live passionately

These are the best medicines for preventing chronic diseases, felling better, managing weight, reducing stress, and improving quality of life.  You're never too old to exercise and you'll live longer by living an active lifestyle. By staying fit, you'll look and feel good.  Plus, the more active and fit you are the more energy you will have!  Physical activity is medicine and there is no magic pill that can duplicate its effects on the body, mind and spirit.  Movement is medicine for creating change in your physical, emotional and mental state.  Avoid the inevitable consequence of incurring a chronic disease from living a sedentary existence and instead exercise regularly.  You'll end up saving money by not needing expensive medications and surgery down the road.

Happiness comes from being healthy. We live in a society that prioritizes treating lifestyle-related diseases rather than preventing them.  This approach is backwards and needs to change in order for the members of our society to become healthier and more fit.  If a particular movement consistently causes bad pain, don't do it!  Move with a purpose but be careful by respecting you body's limits.  Fitness is not a destination.  It's a way of life!

Factors affecting your motivation level are merely excuses.  You and you alone are in control of your life.  Your health and well-being is your own responsibility. Accept this responsibility and make the choice to live a healthier, active lifestyle.  Your mind controls your body and can therefore determine your ability to achieve your fitness goal.  A healthy body is dependent on a healthy mind.  To change your body you must first change your mind.  It all begins and ends in your mind.  Ask yourself how badly do you want to achieve your fitness goal. Only when you feel nothing can get in your way from achieving your fitness goal will success be inevitable!  The only thing standing between you and your goal is your own willpower.  Remember, limitations are for people that have them and excuses are for people that need them.  Some people dream of success, others make it happen.

To enjoy a healthy and happy life, you should eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, and maintain a passion for doing what you love!  Believe in yourself, find inner strength, and follow your dream for you have the power to take control of your destiny.

mens sana in corpore sano:  a healthy mind in a healthy body.
